For Cedro, preserving the environment is more than a commitment, it is and expression of good sense and proof of respect for nature. The concern and care of the company with environmental matters are translated by means of investments and actions which guarantee everyone's safety and well-being.

After a process which took 13 months and had an investment of approximately R$ 1.2 million, Cias. Cedronorte and Santo Antônio, controlled by Cedro, received an ISO 14001 certification in February 2005, being certified companies which act with environmental quality, respecting the environment.

After receiving the certification, the members of the environmental management team concentrated their efforts in the implementation of the programme in the rest of the factory units, of Caetanópolis and Sete Lagoas. Some of the job's stages are: the training of multiplication agents, the promotion of awareness, the survey of environmental aspects and impacts, action plan preparation, the carrying out of the facility's adaptation works, the training of internal auditors, the gathering of applicable legal requirements and the identification of environmental liabilities.
